At Geometry Design and Build Group, we believe there is always room to grow and learn within the world of interior design. Recently, we had the wonderful opportunity to send two of our interior designers to Xiamen, Fujian, China, to participate in the MIIP International Corporate Execution trip.

Growing with Our Industry Community

We are deeply grateful for our ongoing relationship with the Malaysian Interior Industry Partners (MIIP). With our director, Harry Lim, serving on the executive committee, and having recently supported the 15th MIIP Anniversary as sponsors, we are always looking for ways to connect with and learn from our wider industry community.

Discovering the "Stone Capital of China"

The trip began with an early 2:30 AM flight, but our team was eager for the days ahead. Upon landing, they traveled straight to Shuitou, a coastal town in Nan'an City. Widely respected as the "Stone Capital of China," Shuitou is a world-renowned hub for the stone industry.

Here, our designers had the privilege of visiting two of China's leading stone suppliers: Universal Marble & Granite Group and Yingliang Stone Group. It was a fantastic experience to see their operations firsthand and understand the immense care and craftsmanship that goes into their materials.

Later, our designers visited the Goldenhome Kitchen R&D center and production base in Xiamen. Exchanging ideas with their team gave us a wonderful perspective on the latest manufacturing processes for cabinetry.

Bringing Knowledge Home

This trip was a humbling reminder of how much innovation is happening globally. By taking the time to learn directly from these respected suppliers, we hope to bring back valuable knowledge, fresh ideas, and better materials to continue serving our clients to the absolute best of our ability.
